Crate Paper Sunny Days | Morag Cutts

It’s always nice too look forward to brighter days especially at the end of winter. Crate Paper’s Sunny Days collection has a beautiful soft palette and pretty images as you would expect from a Maggie Holmes collection.

To add texture to the background, I first laid down some gesso and then some texture paste through a stencil.

For a little colour, I smooshed Broken ChinaWorn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber Oxide inks before adding some random stamps here and there. I coloured in some of the hearts with Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spritz.

I love fussy cutting so naturally I had to cut out a cluster of sea shells from the Collected  and Pool Time paper. The clear Sticker Book has lots of cute stickers – I love the fact that they are clear or opaque as you can see above.

The bottom of the layout I created a crepe paper frill to the edge before backing with Saturday paper. More fussy cutting and layering to draw the eye down the page.
In my next layout, I’ve made the most of the Peachy Paper  background. It has a neat spot for a photo.

Again, I used a combination of fussy cut images and stickers to create the embellishment clusters.

The gorgeous soft colours work well with the pink Nuvo Crystal Drops to create accents that draw the eye across the page.

The Cardstock and Acetate die-cut pack has a real mix of letter designs and textures. I though it was fun to use one of the cards as a feature on this layout. I layered more fussy cut images from the Sunkissed paper.
The Maggie Holmes collections are always a big hit because of their pretty colours and designs. The Sunny Days collection has a wonderful mix of  vintage designs and colours.
It was great to scrap some holiday photos while the weather has been bad – it’s  real tonic!
