Crate Paper Heart Day
Hey Magpies, Niki here with you today with the totally gorgeous valentines collection by Crate Paper ‘Heart Day’. The collection is fully of pinks and reds, with some black and white thrown in and a small amount of aqua and yellow with cute motifs such as emoji hearts and cactai lol – what else would you expect?!
As usual I haven’t used this collection for the puurpose it was intended – Valentines. Even though the colours are traditionally valentine-like, and there are quite a few hearts, I think that a lot of the collection is generic and easily used for fun every day photos, so a big thumbs up for ‘Heart Day’
For my first layout ‘Dancing in the Street’ I used a cut file by The Cut Shoppe and back filled all those hearts with small pieces of paper from the 6×6 paper pad. I’ve also used the Thickers, the ephemera, chipboard and puffy stickers.
For my next layout, I used another cut file to create a massive fun title and added a few torn paper strips down the right side of the layout. I’ve again used the ephemera, stickers, mixed embellishments and chipboard, oh and those fabulous paperclips.
For my next layout I have again used another cut file (The Cut Shoppe) to create the words which I backed with papers from the 6×6 paper pad.
For this layout ‘Officially Vintage’ I used a cut file to cut all those triangles and piece them back together to form a background, you can’t tell from the photo but they are all raised up on foam pads! I had great fun adding the little heart emojis to all the triangles.
And for my final layout this month, I used some gelatos to create a drip background in the corner then created the layout using the ephemera, chipboard shapes, fringed hearts, stickers, mixed embellishments – I love using up all the bits and pieces in this way.
So happy valentines day, but remember that Heart Day isn’t just for valentines 🙂
Happy scrapping xx
