Crate Paper – Gingham Garden | Part Two | Amy Kattenbelt

Hello Magpies, Amy here to share a layout with you today. I’m using Crate Paper’s newest collection called Gingham Garden.

For this layout I knew I wanted to have clusters of colours. The pastel rainbow colours in the collection are beautiful and I wanted to work with these. I decided on a grid layout, but to use circles to soften the design. By pure coincidence my layout turned out very similar to the sketch being used on the Facebook group For The Love Of Pretty Paper…be sure to check this challenge out this month as Hey Little Magpie are supplying a prize!

I framed the layout with stripes of the striped patterned paper to the top and bottom.

I decided to keep my photo rectangular rather than cutting it to a circle. I feel it makes it stand out from the circles. I deliberately picked a photo that was neutral in colour so it didn’t compromise the design.

I cut 5 circles from various patterned papers from the collection. I picked one of each of the pretty shades.

Then came my favourite park of creating a layout…. adding all the pretty details. I used stickers from the sticker book, including the alphabet in the book to add my title. I also added some of the puffy stickers too, these are my favourite item from this collection I think.

I also added a blue, pink and white large lined stars by JD3D Print, and a Hey Little Magpie camera flair. These really help to add some extra interest.

I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative. I’ll be back shortly with another layout using this Gingham Garden collection, in the meantime
