Cozy Days | Simple Stories | Morag Cutts

Hi friends.  Autumn is certainly here! The fabulous Cozy Days from Simple Stories captures that cosy feeling perfectly.  I have created two very different layouts using the collection.

Wind Swept

I walk our dog everyday and on this day it was so windy that his ears started flapping in the wind! He looked so cute.  I was inspired recently by a mixed media layout by fellow team member, Julie Taylor. I’ve kept my mixed media contained in one area to keep it under control.

I used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink as a watercolour.  I spread it in one area with a silicone applicator. I went over some areas so that they were darker.  I added some stamping and washi tape for interest. Next I used texture paste through a stencil for added texture.  I then added more colour with Magical powders and a gold ink.

Finally I added microbeads to the area for real texture. The die-cut leaves were cut out in Kraft paper.  To add texture, I glued gold foil flakes here and there.

I fussy cut some leaves from the fabulous Harvest Wishes paper. I also added die-cuts and stickers from the Cozy Days Sticker Book.

This layout is completely different – much more pared down.  The papers really pop against the navy blue cardstock.  I made a pocket using the Harvest Wishes paper  to tuck in tags. I threaded twine through some eyelets for added detail.

The Cozy Days foam stickers are so much fun!  For the title, I’ve paired it with a sticker from the 12×12 Cardstock Stickers. You can also see I’ve used one of the collection’s brads – actually they are stickers that look like brads! So clever!

I have had so much fun with this collection.  It has lots of elements to fussy cut and fabulous patterned papers and accessories.  I’ll be back later in the month with another two projects.
