Layered Magic with the Legendary Collection by Paige Evans

For today’s creative session, I reached for the Legendary Collection by Paige Evans for Pinkfresh Studio—a vibrant, inspiring mix of patterns, textures, and motifs that instantly spark the imagination. I wanted to create a layout that combined soft, artistic texture with the bold, adventurous spirit of the collection.

I began by brayering ink onto white cardstock, letting the subtle texture create a painterly background. Once dry, I stencilled over the top using Broken China Distress Oxide Ink, adding a soft wash of colour and depth. The combination of the smooth brayered ink and the delicate stencil design gave the background a dreamy, mixed-media feel without overpowering the rest of the page.

Next, I tore a few strips of patterned papers from the Legendary line and layered them vertically through the centre of my background. The rough, organic edges brought energy and movement, while the fabric sticker added a touch of texture and warmth. This vertical design drew the eye inward, creating a perfect spot to anchor my photos.

To add impact, I fussy cut the large leaf image from one of the 12×12 patterned papers—a true standout piece! I tucked it behind my photo cluster, letting it fan out beautifully to frame the images and give the page a sense of flow and balance.

Finally, I layered my two photos over the paper strips, then embellished around them with smaller ephemera pieces, stickers, and bits out the Hey Little Magpie embellishment kit for finishing touches. I used one of the new wood words as my title. The result is a layout that feels both artistic and cohesive —a perfect celebration of colour, texture, and memories.
