Colour Swatch | Ocean Part Two | Giselle Homer

Hi everyone,

Today I’m sharing three greeting cards made with ‘Colour Swatch – Ocean’ from 49 and Market. With rub-on transfers, stamps, some inks & a few laser cut embellishments you can easily make these in just a couple of hours.

GREETING CARDS

For the bases for all the cards I applied watered down ink to create a pale pattern in the background. To do this I swiped ink onto a stamp block, sprayed it with water & ‘smooched’ it over the cards.

For this card I added a grid pattern over the background using a Hey Little Magpie stamp.  This particular set of stamps includes both of the distressed grids & is a really versatile set to have in your stash! Then I added a rub-on transfer of a flower group over the top. I then glued  a laser-cut bow below the flowers & more rub-on transfers along the top & lower edges.

All the cards were made in a similar way. For this second card, I used leaf clusters with flowers on either side & another laser-cut bow at the top. I drew borders around the edges of all the cards using a fine liner pen.

The birthday sentiments are from my own stash but the cards could be left plain to suit any occasion. Again, I used a stamp over the background ink & added more floral  rub-ons.  By sticking to only 2 colours of ink, they blended well with the colour palette of this collection.

I’ve added these 3 cards to my collection so that I always have some cards to choose from!

Until next time, happy card making everyone!
