Colour Study | Vicki Boutin | Giselle Homer
Hello everyone,
I loved the Vicki Boutin Colour Study collection so much that I’m using it again this month! It’s such a large collection full of a variety of colours and embellishments.
PAWFECTON
For my first layout I pulled the yellow, orange and green elements from the collection that worked well with my photo. I began by backfilling a cutfile title with the black stripes paper and added it to the top, with a gold foil butterfly.
I added a couple of layers behind the photo, with a scalloped chipboard embellishment and another butterfly.
There are lots of florals for fussy cutting, so I placed some on either side of the photo with some leaves and word stickers as well.
The paper I used as a background has a nice subtle pattern which show off the other elements of the layout really well. I just added some gold stars and my journalling below the photo to finish it off.
LOVE THIS LIFE
For my second layout I wanted to concentrate on some of the colourful embellishments from the collection, so I used a white background. Firstly I tore two of the edges and glued it onto a pattered paper.
Then I applied some paint using the packaging technique and some ink splashes in three colours.
I backed the photo and glued a swirly heart on the right side. Some clusters of tags, chipboard and pieces of patterned paper were glued around the photo on the left, top and bottom. I threaded thin cord to the tags and glued it onto the back of the layout.
I a fun chipboard phrase and doodled some squares in black ink just for fun!
Finally I chose a large die cut phrase for the title.
I was happy with the result as my photo became the focal point and the bright colours looked so sharp against the white.
That’s all from me for today, I’ll be here again with two more layouts later in the month.
Till then, happy scrapping everyone!
