Colour Blocking To Create A Scrapbook Layout | Garden Chronicles – Arden Creative Studio | Emma Kate

Hey Magpies, I’ve been having fun with wonderfully colourful ‘Garden Chronicles’ collection from Arden Creative Studio. To start I cut 5 strips in different coloured patterned paper approximately 7 1/2 inches long by 2 & 3/8 inches wide then placed them across my page.

Next I extended each of the strips using the same colour of ephemera. Rub ons first, then a mix of laser cut elements & fussy cut images, layering & intertwining as I adhered them to my page.

My 4×6 photo, framed with a white boarder I positioned centrally on top of my strips, I felt without the boarder my photo would get lost amongst the coloured strips. My title I created from the letters included in the paper pad, although I trimmed them down a little & mounted them onto white cardstock.

To finish I added spots of Nuvo Drops in coordinating colours. Colour blocking is a great technique & really packs a punch on any scrapbook layout, why not give it a try & be sure to share it with us on the Hey Little Magpie Facebook Group!
