Color Kaleidoscope

Hey Magpies, Rachel back again with some more layouts using the amazing Vicki Boutin, Color Kaleidoscope collection. I have loved this collection, it’s amazing!

My first layout I cut apart the cut apart paper sheet and wanted to use a couple of the cards, so I put them on either side of a photo. Then I just built up a lot bits and bobs from the sticker sheet, the ephemera packs and I used some of the banners from the ephemera pack and then cut my own to make a large banner strip across the bottom.

This next one I built up loads of layers of paper from the Color Kaleidoscope range and then added in some Heidi Swapp Colour Fresh papers as well. I was adding some white Nuvo Crystal Drops and then I decided to try something new for me, drizzling a border around the edge of the page. I had never tried this before and honestly, I didn’t think it would work but it did and was really easy! So that’s a new way to add a border to me. I had no idea how to embellish this LO, I couldn’t think of anything to use apart from the bird from the ephemera pack. So I got out my Vicki Boutin Sticker book and that gave me enough embellishments too use!

I really wanted to use the cute sheet with the little birdies on it from the 6×8 Paper Pad so this LO was built around that. I am not a big user of kraft anymore but it just worked the best with the birdie sheet so I went with it! I added a green border and then a row of white Nuvo Crystal Drops as well. Some washi tape added some great layers and then I built up the awesome arrow stickers from the Sticker Sheet up the top. The fabulous green leaf diecut is from the Ephemera pack. This was a super fast layout, the layers of washi tape really make it look way more busy than it actually is, it didn’t take me long at all!

This last one is one I used the Washi Tape to build up a big border top and bottom. I love washi tape for making a quick and easy border on a LO, I just whack it all on, rip some and layer it all up. Then 2 sheets from the 6×8 Paper Pad and I was almost done! I dotted around some of the Ephemera and did some splats with the Watercolor Markers and I was finished!

I love the Color Kaleidoscope collection from Vicki Boutin, it’s amazing and works for all sorts of photos and layouts. Have a great rest of the month Magpies and I’ll see you in May!
