Coffee with Echo Park
It’s no secret that I love coffee and when I saw the ‘Coffee’ collection from Echo Park I knew I’d have to get it. I decided to revisit an idea and make a mini book about coffee. My original coffee mini book was made back in June 2015 with the Shimelle ‘True Stories’ collection.
I kept my new mini book simple using just patterned paper, cardstock, die-cut, enamel dots and bakers twine to tie it together. I used five sheets of the 12 x 12″ patterned papers from the collection; ‘Coffee blend’ (chalkboard / dark teal), ‘Cappuccino cups’ (coffee beans / coffee art) ‘Wake up and smell the flowers’ (gingham / floral), ‘I like big cups’ (coffee slogans) and the ‘3 x 3 Journaling cards‘. I also used the Ephemera Die Cut Pieces and the Enamel Dots.
I printed my photos to 4″ square, cut 11 pieces of white cardstock to 4.5 x 4″, cut 10 pieces of patterned paper to 4.5 x 4″ and trimmed apart the 3 x 3″ Journaling cards paper. Next I adhered my photos back to back on the white cardstock, with the exception of the first and last photo where I kept the other side photo free. I adhered the front and back piece of patterned paper to a piece of cardstock to strengthen them for the cover pieces. Punched holes 1″ from the top and bottom of each page, embellished the pages with 3 x 3″ cards and die-cut ephemera pieces (some edges were raised on foam pads). Typed word strips with my typewriter on to smooth white card, cut them out and adhered to the pages. And finally, I added enamel dots and tabs glued back to back on the front and back covers.
Here’s the completed album…
I also ordered a few papers from the ‘I am Mom’ collection by Echo Park and put together this layout noting a busy week of mum taxi-ing.
I used the following 12 x 12″ papers; ‘4 x 6″ Journaling Cards’, ‘Mom Boss’ (Days of the week), ‘Border Strips’ and ‘Inspirational Letterboards‘ and the co-ordinating Enamel Dots.
