Cocoa Vanilla Studio | These Days | Giselle Homer
Hello Magpies,
This month I’ve been using a Cocoa Vanilla collection that has lots of pastel colours & their signature wide range of embellishments. Plus, there is the prettiest of puffy alphabets too!
LITTLE MOMENTS
I wanted to create a soft & gentle layout for this sweet photo of my daughter & grandson, so I chose some papers that are among the palest from the collection. Paired with some brighter embellishments, they were just right for my page.
To begin I tore long strips from patterned paper & some white cardstock. I distressed the edges and glued them all together to form a background that measured 11″ x 11″. I placed this onto the dotty paper to leave a frame, adding some light gold & grey paint splats to the white cardstock to pick up the colours of the background.
I backed my photo with the yellow checked paper & a few frames which I fussy cut to go directly behind the photo itself. And positioned it just off centre of the patterned paper strip, allowing the edges to tuck underneath.
That gave me the base on which to add all the lovely embellishments. There are die cuts, puffy stickers & clear stickers galore, you just have to choose which is best! On the right of the photo I used flowers, butterflies, puffy hearts & word stickers.
Below the lower edge of the photo I added the title which I chose from the ephemera pack & then embellished it with more flowers & leaves. I also drew a few ‘kisses’ that mirrored those printed on the paper.
OAK COTTAGE
My second layout is completely different & makes use of a number of circles, my favourite shape. I’ve used this format before because I like how circles are symmetric with no sharp edges!
The first circle is eight inches in diameter cut from a 12″ x 12″ piece of strong cardstock. I distressed the inner edge & added some pale green paint that was going to become the base for the flower embellishments. I raised this over a piece of green dotty paper by using foam pads for some extra dimension.
I set about adding embellishments all round the circle’s edge, using fussy cutting as well as die cuts from the ephemera packs. The puffy gold hearts were perfect to add a bright touch.
I printed my photo large enough to be placed behind two more circles measuring 5.5″ & 5″ respectively. The larger one is cut from plain cardstock & the other is cut from patterned paper. I glued the photo with the two circle frames directly to the green dotty paper
Using the puffy alphabet, I added the title to a circular frame & finished the layout by adding a couple of tiny words stickers here & there.
I hope you check out this collection in the shop, it’s so pretty & has lots of elements that would work perfectly with spring or summer themed layouts.
Till next time, happy scrapping everyone!
