Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Happy Days | Table Tennis | Amy Kattenbelt
Hello Magpies, Amy here to share another layout with you. I am using Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s latest collection called Happy Days. I’ve fully embraced the rainbow colours in this layout.
Table Tennis
I started this layout by using one of the longer filmstrip pieces from the Specrum Gardenia collection by 49 & Market. I placed it vertically to the right of my white background. I then cut a 2cm strip of the 12×12 paper from Happy Days called “Sunshine Lollipops” and stuck it parallel to the filmstrip. I used the EK Success Round Binding Edge punch with some black cardstock and tucked this behind my rainbow strip of paper.
With the foundations of my layout in place, I took some black ink and used a dropped to make fairly large ink splats around my page. I had to keep telling myself that less in more with this technique!
I then fussy cut three of the gold frames from the speciality paper and used them to mat my three small photos. I place these down the filmstrip.
I then had lots of fun adding diecuts (both regular and floral), Hey Little Magpie Phrase ephemera and fussy cut butterflies from the paper called “Flutterby“. I tried to match the colours to the rainbow paper, so I started with pinks at the top and moved down to oranges, then yellow, aqua and finished with blues at the bottom of the page.
I added a black ‘obsessed’ flair from Hey Little Magpie to the top of the layout.
To balance the layout I fussycut the strip of rainbows from the paper called “Feel Good” and added it down the left hand side of my page.
Lastly I added my title. This was created using the Doodlebug Abigail cardstock alpha stickers in Beetle Black and the mini puffy alphas from the Happy Days collection.
I hope I’ve inspired you to give a rainbow layout a go, or maybe you will be brave and make some black spatter on your layout too. I still have lots of inspiration to share with you using this Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection, so keep an eye out for future blog posts from myself!
Take Care,
