I started this layout by creating a mixed media background. I used Broken China Distress Oxide with Tim Holtz Brushstrokes Stamp Set. I sprayed the stamp with water after using the ink pas and then stamped it many times to create three areas of blue ink on some thick white cardstock. I also added some fine splatter with a paintbrush. When the ink had dried I then added some water splatter to activate the oxide effects making the ink look very layered and textured. I love how it turned out.
I fussy cut two of the gold foil frames from the speciality paper, and trimmed my small photos to fit inside. I then layered up lots of little stripes of papers from the collection. This was all done on top of two of the inked mixed media areas.
I added some blue flowers from the floral ephemera pack, and also added a few beach themed stickers that I had left over from Heidi Swapp’s collection called Set Sail.
Behind two of the clusters I also added two of the Filmstrips from 49&Market in Ocean. I love layering with these pieces as they add so much to the finished layout. On top of one of these filmstrips I added my large title using green Foam Alphabet stickers.
I finished the layout off by adding various other ephemera from the collection, some fussy cut butterflies from one of the papers, and finally some clusters of blue, green and yellow enamel hearts.
Thanks for coming to take a closer look at my layout,
