Circles and bows!

Circles and bows, bows and circles…
This month just in case the title hasn’t given it away, I decided to an abundance of spherical shapes coupled with pretty bows! And why? I was well and truly smitten by the gorgeous embroidery hoops by Crate and set about planning to use at least one on each of my layouts this month.
And like all ideas, nothing ever goes entirely to plan!
‘Favourite moment’ features a picture of my youngest step-daughter at her prom.

The majority of each layout featured products from the Fine and Dandy collection by Dear Lizzy, although the striped base paper of this layout, aptly named Essential Lines was from Websters.

I did use a couple of pages from an old book, which I lightly added some watercolour paint to, so as to soften it along with some stickers that were in the shapes of circles and balloons.

The circular hoop provided the ideal base for the title cut on the silhouette.

And of course the layout wasn’t complete with the necessary bow. The plastic glitter bows from the Fine and Dandy collection are so very kitsch, almost tacky but so, so cool!
‘My fave’ is a photo from oh so long ago!

Not one for many gadgets, at our regular crop, I asked Sheena if I could borrow her 2″ punch and subsequently cut a series of 2″ circles from the Fine and Dandy paper pad in an assortment of pinks, greys and blacks.

Each circle was double backed and then all four sides were scored and folded in to make a square, which when butted together forms a patchwork effect.

It’s a very therapeutic way of using paper, either paper scraps or indeed 6 x 6″ or 12 x 12″ paper pads! Plus I got to use year another kitsch bow and one of the adorable metal bobbies hair clips!
‘Celebrate’ was the perfect title for yet another of Nina’s prom photos…
celebrate
I adore the way she is candidly captured on camera, excited and giggly being a typical over-dramatic girly!

The wood veneer title from Heidi Swapp couldn’t have been more perfect for this layout! Sometimes, you’ve just gotta go with the flow, be brave and use these gorgeous items we are all too guilty of saving…

The Peonies paper from the Fine and Dandy collection enabled me to fussy cut to my hearts content! The blooms were layered in and amongst the circular hoops to create a central banner which clustered around the candid photo.

And of course no layout this month would have been complete without the obligatory plastic bow!
