Christmas with Kringle & Co | Julie Taylor
Hi Magpies.I’m back today sharing 2 Christmas layouts using the fabulous Kringle & Co collection from Photoplay Paper. I was drawn to this collection immediately for it’s unusual colour scheme, red, grey & black & those adorable little gnomes!!!
Kiss me under the Mistletoe
I started by adding some Hickory Smoke Oxide ink to the background & some texture paste through a small dot stencil & a few splatters of green ink. I then die cut an abundance of mistletoe leaves from the 6×6 paper pad.
I adhered them all at the top of the page, under some red pompom trim & added an ephemera die cut above. I picked 2 frames, from the ephemera die cuts & cut some smaller ones from the 6×6 paper pad. I added my photo in one frame & arranged the others around it.
The title was fussy cut from the a paper out the set of 7 patterned papers & added above & below the photo,
& then to add a few gnomes!! The one at the bottom, off the stickers sheet, sat on a present & the smaller one fussy cut off a tag in the ephemera die cut tags set.
HO HO HO
For this layout I started by randomly adding black acrylic paint, this always looks really scary & messy but stick with it & the end result can be really striking!! I stamped small words & phrases, in black, all over the paint & added gold texture paste on the top.
I then built my photo mat up using papers, from the 6×6 paper pad & tags, from the ephemera die cut tags.
I fussy cut the Santa gnomes out the color me cards paper & painted them using Festive Berries Oxide ink & added some more die cuts hanging down on black & white bakers twine.
I cut the HO HO HO out the Color Me cards paper & coloured it in gold & added a few watered down white gesso splatters & a sprinkle of gold stars around the page.
my hand drawn border finished the page.
Thanks for joining me today & I wish you a happy & healthy new year, with lots of scrapping!!!
until next time, happy scrapping
