Christmas Magic – Vicki Boutin – Peppermint Kisses – Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone ! It’s Wendy here again with my second layout using Vicki Boutin Peppermint Kisses. I’m still loving the collection as much as when I made the first layout! It has a very jolly feel to it. For this layout I predominantly used the traditional greens and reds from the collection.

Initially I planned to make a corner cluster around the photo and have that as the main focus of the layout. I chose my photo and positioned it in the bottom left hand corner.  I chose the large tag from the journalling ephemera with the word Joy in it and cut through all the tags with in it . I then distressed all the edges and  was going to adhere it to the page, raising each part on sticky fixers from some dimension. I tucked it just to the right of the photo. I then added a frame to the left side and a few embellishments from the Ephemera Icons. having looked at what I had designed I decided to remove it all so I could stencil behind with a Christmas Sparkle stencil design. ( I used a Tim Holz tag stencil) After this I did stick everything down.

 

After this I felt more was needed in the top right of the layout so did a little more stencilling using distress oxides and then created a cluster using pieces from the Ephemera Icons. Again I distressed the edges and raised the pieces on sticky fixers. i then added some foam stickers around the layout .

I still felt the layout needed something extra so I trimmed 1cm off two sides and gutted the 12x12Around Town paper. I used the green side to create a border and then machine stitched around the edge.

Finally I added some gold splatters across the layout for a bit of Christmas sparkle! At this point I realised I was happy the layout was finished!
