CHRISTMAS JOY! – Simple Stories – Mix & A-Mingle – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here again and I’m getting excited for Christmas and feeling quite festive! I’m sharing my second layout using Simple Stories Mix & A-Mingle.
I loved the 12×12 paper It’s Christmas time and I immediately thought I could cut around the edge of the floral arrangement and tuck my photo in behind. I chose to use a square 4×4 photo which I matted first. I cut using a craft knife around the main flower and some of the sprigs and then cut further into the petals to give the flower a 3D appearance. I raised the petals on sticky fixers for dimension.
There was too much space towards the top of the layout so I chose three papers and tore them across horizontally. I layered them with sticky fixers between again for dimension. There is a fabulous sticker book with this collection that has a set of mini letters in it, I decided to hang the word Christmas from the top layer of paper. I punched holes and attached eyelets, then I threaded waxed string through to attach to the letters. I chose a bird sticker from the sticker book and stuck it onto white card stock and then fussy cut it and added it on the top layer with a decorative brad.
Having positioned the photo I used a tag from the 12×12 tag paper, I distressed the edges and then placed it to the left side of the picture. I added another stamp sticker, a floral sticker which I again stuck to white card stock and fussy cut. I added a couple more tab stickers underneath.
To finish off the layout I punched couple of tabs and added them above the photo and used the JOY die cut from the Bits and Pieces ephemera. I managed to tuck this around the petals from the main flower.
I love how this layout turned out and am looking forward to continuing to use the collection. I find the sticker books are a great way to create embellishments by sticking them onto white card stock and fussy cutting them. There are 8 pages of stickers including an alphabet and tab pages as well as floral designs and Christmas decorations in the sticker book in this collection.
I wish you all a very happy Christmas and look forward to sharing more with you all in 2023!
Until then… Happy Scrapping!
