Chester | Vicki Boutin – Discover + Create
Hello Magpies. Happy December! This month I’ve been having brilliant fun working with Vicki Boutin’s latest collection called “Discover + Create“.
Chester
For this layout I wanted the make good use of the Paperie pack that comes with this collection. If you haven’t ever tried one of the American Crafts Paperie packs I highly recommend them. You get 200 pieces (but actually some of these can be cut apart into even more pieces). They are printed on paper rather than card, but once they are stuck down onto your layout it really doesn’t seem to make any difference. Plus you get 2 of every design. This Paperie pack consists of a mix of ephemera die cuts plus washi tape stickers.
I started my layout by picking a few of the larger pieces. I decided I wanted to use the awesome typewriter image and the large pink tag. I also picked some of the feathers. I decided these would work well in a vertical design. The two photos I am using are 3*4 with a white border.
Once the large pieces and my photos were glued to a white cardstock background, I picked out some of the smaller pieces to layer. I kept to a colour scheme of blue, pink and orange. I used some of the ticket pieces as well as cutting apart the butterfly images to use.
I used one of the black clip pieces along the edge of my top photo. I also added some seam binding in pink and blue to this clip and the large pink tags.
I added a few smaller black details including the asterisks from the alphabet thicker set. I used this same set to add my title. The alphabet style is amazing, I really love that even though each letter is unique they work so well together and give a very modern feel to the page.
Thank you for coming to checkout this layout. I’ll be here again in a few weeks sharing another layout crates from this collection.
