Chasing Dreams with Maggie Holmes
Hey there Magpies, Niki here with you today, super excited to be working with the new Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection, Chasing Dreams. I didn’t buy every paper in the collection, I mostly went for the ones with fussy cutting potential and believe me, I really went for the fussy cutting, so much so that my thumb is sore and my scissors are blunt, lol. I had the adhesive Chipboard sheet, 6×12 stickers, the 6×6 paper pad, the Chipboard Accent Thickers, the fringed butterflies and the Puffy Stickers.
I got straight in to fussy cutting those gorgeous blooms and the frames. I re-layered onto white cardstock with a small amount of watercolour background.
For this layout I fussy cut out the diamonds on one of the papers and re-layered them onto white card. I added machie stitching around the diamonds. For the corners I cheated and kept those triangles as whole pieces, and also added machine stitching.
For this layout, I picked out all the blue and green tones and went for a boy layout with lots of strips…
For Happy Heart, I fussy cut about a million butterflies, from the big sheet and from the little sheet in the 6×6 pad. I cut a half-butterfly shape on my Silhouette which I layered onto another sheet of white card, the outline raised up on foam pads – this gave me a large recess in a butterfly shape…then I added the butterflies.
For this one, I layered up lots of the cards from the cut-apart sheet as well as loads of other bits and pieces.
and finally, more fussy cutting – I fussy cut out lots of rosettes and a few more frames, phew lots of cutting!!
Thanks so much for looking at my creations, I hope I’ve inspired you to give your scissors a good work out!
Happy scrapping xx
