Chasing Adventures – Pebbles | Morag Cutts

Hey there Magpies! I’m playing with two collections from Pebbles this month. In this first post, I created two layouts using Chasing Adventures – a fun mix of designs and colours which will suit all sorts of themes.

Adventure

I took my daughter and her friend off to London during an inset day recently. We had great weather for sightseeing.

I haven’t used flowers on a layout for a while, so I used some co-ordinating paper flowers from my stash. To add texture, I layered tulle and tucked in some fancy pins into the bunch of flowers. A quick swipe with Gesso to help tone down some of the bright colours in the leaves.

The rich, jewel colours in the collection make for a bright and colourful layout. There are lots of papers in the collection, so I wanted to include as many as I could to create my layout. The tones and patterns in the Asia paper add a wonderful pop of bright colour. To add more texture, I roughed the edges and created some folds. I tucked in some stickers and ephemera.

To finish this layout, I used stickers from Maggie Holmes sticker book. Although the book is an investment it’s so worth it. There are hundreds of stickers which will co-ordinate with lots of different themes and layouts. I always find something I can add to a layout in the book.

Magical

Yes, I’m still scrapping my New York trip. My album will be so interesting when I’ve finished as I’ve created layouts using different collections over the past couple of months. To create the background, I drew some messy circles in black pen and added some scribbles here and there. I then used texture paste through a stencil for a little texture.

One of the things that caught my eye when choosing the collection is the cute sticker pack.  The are stickers for lots of different kinds of adventure including some city stickers. These are so adorable for layering – I die-cut lots of leaves which I then coloured with Distress Oxide inks (Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron).

To balance the layout, I smooshed some ink in the bottom right hand corner and layered more stickers from the Sticker pack.

I hope I’ve inspired you to take a look at the Chasing Adventures collection with its fun designs and pretty patterns. I’ll be back later in the month with two more layouts.
