Celebrate with Simple Stories | Jo Boland

Hey, it’s Jo here for one final time as I bring you one last scrapbook layout for Hey Little Magpie. I have been on the creative team since August 2014 and have taken the decision to to step down. I have so loved being on the team. Hey Little Magpie is a great store and Sarah is a lovely person to work for. Anyway, here’s my last project using the Simple Stories Celebrate collection, a scrapbook layout documenting my eldest son passing his driving test.

I’ve used strips of papers from the collection down the left side of the layout. I have distressed the edges of three and fussy cut a scalloped edge on the fourth. The papers used are the reverse side of the Journal Elements, Let’s Celebrate, Happy Everything and Woo Hoo! The strip that says Yay across the bottom is the manufacturers strip from the Journal Elements paper which I’ve raised up on a foam strip. The blue ‘Way to Go’ in the top left corner is a foam sticker.

I have cut a tag from the Tags paper and a journaling card from the Journal Elements paper and popped the top of these up on foam pads. These sit either side of the photo which I’ve surrounded by a mixture of stickers. There’s cardstock stickers, foam stickers and some stickers from the sticker book (these include the large blue letter stickers).

I love the camera sticker. It’s a cardstock sticker which I’ve raised on foam pads and added a foam star sticker on to the lens. To the left of the camera is a phrase banner sticker from the sticker book. Underneath the camera there are cardstock word stickers which I’ve raised on foam pads.

To finish the layout I’ve add some gold ink splatters from my stash and some enamel dots.

The Simple Stories Celebrate collection is more than just a collection for birthdays, it really can be used for any celebration. I really love this collection, not only is it really useful but the colours and designs are great too.
