Hello Magpies
Today I’m sharing a bright and happy layout created with this month’s embellishment kit, packed with textures and little treasures that made the page come together so naturally. I started with a clean sheet of white cardstock as my base, then added several strips of patterned paper horizontally across the centre. I love how the mix of colours and prints forms a playful band that instantly draws the eye. To build on that central cluster, I pulled out my stitched circle template and created a few soft stitched outlines. These circles gave me perfect spots to nestle my title and accents while adding a subtle layer of detail without overwhelming the design.
For the title, I used the wood “celebrate” piece from the November kit. Its warm tone and bold shape contrast beautifully against the fresh white background. I placed it on the left, above one of the photos, inside one of the stitched circles, letting it anchor the layout.
Next came the embellishment kit goodies. I clipped the hand paperclip to the top edge of one of the photos, such a cute, unexpected detail. The fabric heart fit perfectly above that, adding softness and dimension. To bring a touch of whimsy, I ran a length of green trim along one of the paper strips, letting it peek out behind the photos for a pop of texture.
I finished the page with the canvas flair and the fabric patch, tucking them in around the page to balance the layout and build interest. These pieces added just the right amount of tactile charm—exactly what I love about the embellishment kits.
Overall, this layout came together with a joyful mix of textures, stitching, and layered embellishments. It feels celebratory, personal, and full of lovely little details—exactly what scrapbooking should be.
