Carta Bella 'Let's Travel' Part 2 | Jo Boland

Hey there, I’m back with part two of my June DT projects using the fabulous Carta Bella ‘Let’s Travel’ collection. You can find part one here.

Fun Times This Way – 2018

First up is the layout above ‘Fun times this way’ and documents places where I stayed away during the year of 2018.

The time line border strip from the 4 x 6 Journaling Cards paper and was the inspiration behind the layout. I trimmed down the gorgeous Bon Voyage paper, distressed the edges and stuck it at an angle on Bazzill Basics kraft cardstock. Then I mounted little photos on foam pads on top of 1 3/4″ squares of patterned paper from the 6×6 Paper Pad. Each one is connected with twine from my stash to the time line which I raised up on foam pads.

Each of the little photos is embellished with either chipboard pieces, die-cut ephemera pieces, stickers, ordie-cut frames and tags. The number thickers are from the Shimelle collection ‘Sparkle City’.

Flower Fest 2019

My second layout focuses on the floral elements in the collection with a page about helping my college (I’m a floristry student) put together some floral displays at a local flower festival. It was such a cold, windy and rainy June day, the only sunshine was in the form of sunflowers!

The floral paper is the b-side on the 3×4 Journaling Cards and the waves paper is the b-side on Life is Good. I stuck them on Bazzil Basics white cardstock and drew fake stitching for a border.

I added a border sticker across the page and mounted the photos on the b-side of the 4×6 Journaling Cards paper. The florals came from the sticker sheet and the two chipboard packs; chipboard accents and chipboard phrases. I popped up the edges of the stickers with foam pads, this makes them more dimensional.

The frame is from the sticker sheet, I just raised it off my photo with foam pads. The puffy letter stickers are from the Dear Lizzy ‘It’s All Good’ collection. I have to say that they don’t stick very well, so I used some liquid glue to adhere them.

The fab tag is from the Die-cut Frames & Tags pack and the twine is from my stash.
