Bro & Co – Part Two | Simple Stories | Amy Kattenbelt
Amy here, back sharing two more layouts using this fun and dynamic collection called Bro & Co by Simple Stories.
Oh Yeah! Awesome
For this layout I started with the black and white checked pattern, which is the B side of the Killin It paper. I then cut the diagonal 4 coloured stripes, leaving a thinner black border at the top and bottom, from the So Rad! paper and stuck them onto the background.
I matted my photo, first onto some of the left over black paper from the So Rad sheet, and then onto a scrap of white cardstock. The title was created using words from the foam phrase sticker pack.
I went to town, adding lots of the fun die cuts and stickers, trying to arrange them roughly by the same colour as the stripes of the paper. Using the Simple Stories Colour Vibe Alphabet books I added a subtitle to my layout in yellow. The layout was finished off with lots of enamel dots to fill the spaces. It was a really fun and easy layout to create, but is full of little details and sayings.
The base for this layout was a white piece of cardstock, which i then doodled triangles in black pen to form a central column. I used the Retro Triangles stencil which goes with this collection to create the triangles. Next I added some fine black ink splatters.
Using rectangles of various patterned papers, I created a cluster in the centre of the layout on which to place my square photo. I drew around the edges of all the papers in a black pen to give them definition and also help tie them to the doodles background.
My title ‘Dude’ was added from the chipboard set. Selecting the die cuts and stickers that were mainly either circular in shape, or related to teenagers, I created a scattering of ephemera. This ran down the central column of the layout, and also to either side of the photo. Again, I finished the layout with some enamel dots.
I hope you have enjoyed taking a closer look at the two layouts I have created using this collection. It really is great for boys of all ages. I will be back again next month sharing with some layouts using a different brand new collection. Thanks for reading. Take care, and stay safe.
