Bon Voyage! – Paige Taylor Evans – Go the Scenic Route – Wendy Meffan
Hey Magpies! Here is my first blog post for October and I’m sharing two LO using Paige Taylor Evans Go the Scenic Route Collection. I used the 12×12 paper no 17 which was covered in rows of tickets . I fussy cut them all individually and then distressed their edges. I decided to arrange them in a rainbow order down the page.
I decided I would sew around a ticket in each row in the corresponding colour to the ticket to give some texture to the LO. I chose two photos which I matted with papers from the 6×8 paper pad.
I then fussy cut lots of elements from the 12×12 paper no 6. I chose to use these as ephemera and attached them in corresponding colours to each line of the tickets.
I made two small clusters one to each side of the photos.
I used some of the older mini gold thicker letters from a previous collection for the title.
I love this LO and although it took long time with all the fussy cutting, distressing and sewing I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
Layout No 2 – TRAVEL IN STYLE.
I was excited to see the 12×12 paper no 5 which actually had Australia on the map! This is quite unusual and as some of my family live there we do try and visit fairly regularly and I’m alway trying to find a collection with some link to Australia .
Much as I loved this paper I was then a bit stumped as to how to use it! I decided I would sew round the UK and Australia outlines to make them stand out as that was my travel route.
I added a chipboard geo tag to mark where Melbourne would be as our initial destination. I then chose my three photos and matted them with papers from the 6×8 paper pad.
I used a technique from before for the title which was using squares of patterned paper and the cutting the letter from the square. I then distressed the edges and decided to zig zag stitch around the outline of each of the letters using my sewing machine.
I added a journalling card from the cut apart sheet no 1 and attached it behind the photos.
I used a very thin piece of card stock to make an arrow as the route direction from London to Melbourne and attached it behind the photos.
I was really pleased with this LO too, as I wanted to document our amazing journey.
I hope these LO have given you some inspiration for this beautiful collection and I look forward to seeing what you create. Don’t forget to post on the Hey Little Magpie Facebook page
till next time …. happy Scrapping!
