Bold and Bright Vicki Boutin | Julie Taylor

Hello Magpies

I’m back today with my final layout, for the blog, using Bold and Bright by Vicki Boutin. I’ve really loved working with this collection & all it’s bright, vibrant colours. I still have loads left so will be using it for more layouts for sure.

I wanted to add MM to my background so I added a coat of gesso to protect my cardstock & to help the colours flow. I’d already worked out that I wanted a central square so I just dragged my oxide inks in & around that area & added water to make them run. I used Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed & Spiced Marmalade. Once dry I added splatters in the same colours. I then went over that central area with some texture paste through the Diamond in the Rough stencil, to add some texture & stitched a square, in black thread, around the central square.

I added some patterned papers, to my photo & layered it up with a couple of frames, some chipboard ephemera & vellum foliage.

I chose to use one of the Mixed Media chipboard Titles & inked it up in the same colours as the background, adding a splattering of water to get a mottled effect. These titles are great & add enormous impact on a page!!

Thank you for joining me today.

Until next time,
