BLOOM! – Simple Stories – Bunnies and Blooms -Part 2 – Wendy Meffan

Hey Magpies! I’m back again sharing two more LO from this gorgeous Bunnies and Blooms Collection by Simple Stories. I have been blown away by the beautiful pastel shades in this collection and have really enjoyed working with it.

My 3rd LO form this collection has taken on a grid design as I wanted to showcase more of the patterned papers which I didn’t use in my previous LO on the blog. I decided to divide the page into four and then sewed a cross through the middle. I gutted the 12×12 In Full Bloom paper and edged my trimmed white card stock.

I decided to colour coordinate each of the quarters according to the colours in the photographs.  I started with the top left corner and cut up the 12×12 4×4 elements paper  and used the Hello Spring piece as it worked perfectly as a subtitle for the theme of the LO. I matted it with another 4×4 cut apart piece and then added a coordinating tag, I distressed all the edges of each part. I then added a decorative brad and a puffy sticker to embellish.

In turn I worked around the LO so chose to use pink in the top right corner as the photo was a beautiful  pink blossom tree. I again matted the photo and used the ‘B’ side of one of the 4×4 pieces to start layering. then I used another 4×4 piece cut from the 12×12 Choose Happy paper . I used a pink tag from the 12×12 tag sheet, then embellishing again with puffy stickers and decorative brads and a chipboard sticker.

The bottom right corner followed exactly the same format and I used 4×4 squares cut from 12×12 Egg Hunt paper and the one of the 4×4 cut apart pieces. I added a purple tag and fussy cut a floral cluster from a tag. I added some puffy stickers and a brad to embellish.

The final corner was based on the yellow and green colours from the collection, I used the ‘B’ side of the 4×6 elements paper and cut another 4×4 square, another piece from the 4×4 elements sheet and a coordinating tag. Embellished with puffy stickers, a brad and a chipboard sticker.

I finished the LO off by placing the large chipboard BLOOM sticker  centrally across the LO.

I was very happy with the dimension created in the LO by layering and matting the photos.

LAYOUT 4   SUCH A CUTIE!

This collection does cover many colours and I realised I’d not shown any of the the blue parts of it, the photos of my great nephew blended themselves perfectly to the blue in the collection which was where my LO evolved from.

I gutted the 12×12 Bunny Love paper and trimmed my white card stock to give the LO a blue edge. I matted all four photos in offcuts from the 12×12 papers. I cut some 2cm strips from the 12×12 Bunny Love paper, Egg Hunt paper, In Full Bloom paper and Journal elements paper. I distressed all the edges and cut them into short strips. Having arranged them in a column vertically I machined through them and also added some zigzag stitch.

I then arranged the photos across the page and chose the blue tag which had the perfect words on it. I fussy cut some of the bunnies  from Bunny Love paper and dotted them around the LO.

I fussy cut a few tiny flowers and added them at the base of the photos and then glued on a few sequins. Finally I added the SUCH a CUTIE title.

I have enjoyed creating some really Springlike LO all quite different from this collection. If you’ve not considered it then do take a closer look at it.

Don’t forget we love to see your creativity so please post to the Hey Little Magpie Facebook page.

Till next time …. Happy Scrapping!
