Best Friends | Pretty Little Studio You Are My Sunshine | Emma Kate

Hey Magpies, hope you are well, here to share some loveliness from Pretty Little Studio & their ‘You Are My Sunshine’ collection. I chose to begin my layout with the ‘You Are My Sunshine’ patterned paper, full of bold beautiful warm colours.

It could have stayed in its original state but I wanted to add some texture, so I cut out each sun beam, distressed the edges & adhered them with a little wet glue back into place onto black cardstock. I then machined stitched in black along each edge, I love the pops of black poking through, it brings out the black detail of the collection.

Next I added my photos, mounted on black cardstock & my title ‘Best Friends’. To surround my photo I fussy cut lots of little clouds from the ‘Sunny Days’ patterned paper, super cute & matches the sunshine perfectly.

Then I used a handful of butterflies from the ‘Butterfly Wings Die Cuts’ pack, dotted around my photos, making sure only to use glue along the centre of the butterfly so I could fold up their wings. I doubled up on a couple of them to add more interest.

To finish, like always (well 99% of the time), I added a sprinkling of sparkle, plus a few dots of black Nuvo Drops, again adding to the pops of black. Must admit I usually shy away from black but I think you will agree it really brings out the warm colours of the vibrant collection.
