Beautiful – Simple Stories
Hi there Sheena here again x
I was having a look in the shop when I came across the Beautiful range by Simple Stories. To be honest I was a little surprised how muted the colours in it were for a Simple Stories range but in fact the colours were what had first got my attention and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
#Selfie.
For this first page I took the colours from this range and using watercolour paints ran the colours down some watercolour paper which took a while and a little patience as some drips really wanted to run together!
When the watercolour paint was dry I mounted it on black cardstock & added the Beautiful – Choose Happy paper above it. To cover the join I added my photo mounted on papers from the 6×8 pad plus chipboard embellishments, stickers and ephemera till I was happy with the coverage. Then sprinkled a little gold paint over the top before adding a Hey Little Magpie flair as my title.
Fabulous.
For my second page I focused on the Beautiful 4×4 elements sheet as my starting point. The photo was from a recent birthday trip to Downton Abbey or Highclere Castle as its really called. Rather than use cardstock as my base I used the Beautiful – Simply Wonderful paper. I machine stitched my 4×4 blocks to some torn vellum before adhering to the patterned paper using foam pads. Just before sticking them down I added a rough square of gold paint beneath each square to further lift it up.
I further embellished the squares with die cuts, chipboard and stickers before adding my journalling.
Many thanks for looking & when you get a chance do check out this muted range over in the shop.
Till next time x
