Beautiful – Gingham Garden – Crate paper – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here and I’m sharing my first layout for March. This month I have chosen to use Gingham Garden by Crate Paper. It has gorgeous pastel tones and a slightly vintage feel to it and is a very pretty collection. I knew I had some perfect photos to go with the colours in the collection.
To start my layout I gutted the 12×12 Blooms paper and trimmed my white card stock and adhered it creating a border. This collection comes with a large Paperie pack which has 200 pieces in it. Some are stickers and some are paper, there are also duplicates of each. In the ephemera pack I found a lovely post card saying Journey on it and I decided to use this as a photo mat, my son and his girlfriend were on holiday in Marrakech and had sent me some gorgeous photos of themselves. I then tore the 12×12 In the Shade paper which has beautiful pastel coloured stripes on it and added it under the photo. I used the pink/peach section of the paper. I chose a chipboard flower and floral ephemera to embellish around the photo along with pieces from the Paperie pack. Some of these pieces were stickers so I stuck them them onto white card stock and then fussy cut them out. I also tucked in some velum floral pieces also in the ephemera pack.
I planned all this and then lifted everything off the page and used Bundled Sage distress oxide to create a mixed media background. I relocated all the pieces and started to stick them down. ( I always photograph my plan) as then when I’ve lifted it I can place it back down as it was.
I treated myself to the stamp set for this collection and stamped some black leaves around the floral elements.
Above the top of the photo I added a flower sticker and a chipboard camera.
Never being able to settle with too much white space I made a cluster for the top corner of the layout. Again I made a mixed media background and then added pieces from all the different embellishment packs.
Finally I added some splatters and puffy butterfly and heart stickers around the layout.
I hope this will inspire you to take a look at this gorgeous collection.
Until next time… Happy Scrapping!
