BEACH DAYS – SIMPLE STORIES – JUST BEACHY – WENDY MEFFAN

If you’re considering what collection to use with bright sunny photos then Simple Stories Just Beachy is the perfect Collection. The colours are really bright and colourful, almost tropical. I am sharing my second layout using it for some photos from Australia last year, the bright yellow I thought may be a problem in my photo, but it works perfectly with this collection.

As usual I had multiple photos to scrap so I chose to make them 3 ” square to fit them all in. I used the remainder of my 12×12 Take is Easy paper and ripped both edges and used it as a start point at the top of the layout. Then I matted all the photos on 3×4 element cut  outs from the 12×12 cut apart 3×4 sheet. I also used a couple of papers from the 6×8 paper pad. I distressed their edges from more texture and dimension. I then positioned them on the page and decided a bit of stencilling would look nice around them. I used a Vicki Boutin stencil from the Storyteller Collection. I stencilled using distress oxides and used Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marigold and Fossilised Amber.

I added a matching tag from the tag sheet under the bottom photo and then started to add my embellishments from the chipboard stickers, 3×4 elements paper, sticker book and I fussy cut pieces from the cut apart 3×4 sheet and the paper pad. I used the globe and Sun and Fun pieces  from the chipboard elements, and fussy cut the flip flops and bag.

I used the Beach Days chipboard pieces along with a fussy cut sunumbrella as the title.

To the left of the photo I used some fussy cut fish from the 6×8 paper pad cut apart sheet, along with the high tides and good vibes phrase.

Then I fussy cut the sunglasses and camper van from the 3×4 elements paper and the 6×8 paper pad.

Finally to fill a space ont eh other side I made another title using the sticker letters from the sticker book and added some more fussy cut sea bits. These came from the 12×12 high tides paper.

I placed enamel dots in all of the starburst stencils to complete the layout.
