Back at the 'Flower Market' | Jo Boland

Hi, I’m back with my second installment of projects using the gorgeous Carta Bella ‘Flower Market’ collection. You can see my first projects here. This time round I’ve made two very different layouts, one focusing on lots of patterned paper and the other focusing on lots of white space and using minimal embellishments.
Let’s start with my first scrapbook layout shown above ‘Beauty is all around’. For this layout I used four of the collections patterned papers ‘Market Trucks’ (black gingham b-side), ‘Market Days‘ (blue trellis b-side), ‘Flower Market Floral’ and ‘Embroidery Hoops‘ (woodgrain b-side).

The two 3×4″ cards seen above are from the ‘3×4 Journaing Cards paper’ and I also cut fussy cut some extra embellishments from the ‘2×2 squares paper‘. These were the ‘flowers’ sign and basket of flowers, the flower vases and the ‘so delightful’ banner and florals. All of these can be seen in the photo below. I used foam pads to raise some of them up.

The ‘so many reasons why I love this’ is from the Icons Ephemera Die-cut pack. I cut it in half, using the bottom half, as seen in the photo above, and the top half above the photos with the date and place (seen in the photo below). The extra embellishments used on this layout are from the 12×12 Cardstock Sticker Sheet (hearts and ‘fresh flowers’ sticker), the Decorative Brads pack (‘lovely’ brad and flower crate chipboard sticker), a piece of the black and white Buffalo Decorative Washi Tape, the Adhesive Chipboard Accents pack (‘love’ and ‘hello’ banners) and the Adhesive Chipboard Phrases pack (tag tucked under photo).

My second layout for this blog post is in stack contrast with the above layout.

For this layout I started with a piece of smooth white cardstock and applied some stars with the lovely Echo Park Paper – Hello Baby Boy ‘Twinkling Stars’ 6×6″ stencil. I used a shimmery white paste (similar to this one) mixed with some pink acrylic paint.

The cluster seen above features the buffalo decorative washi tape, a heart sticker on a foam pad, a decorative brad and a fussy cut flower cart from the 2×2″ Squares Paper.

I backed my photo with another piece of the Market Days paper and surrounded it with fussy cut pieces from the Embroidery Hoops paper and the 2×2 Squares paper. I added two chipboard heart stickers, a word sticker, two decorative brads (one with the brad backing removed) and an enamel dot. The scalloped border sticker has been cut so that part is used under the photo and another part along the top of the layout, along with other cardstock stickers and another decorative brad.

The little foam letter stickers are from the Paige Evans ‘Whimsical’ collection, the Carta Bella ‘Flower Market’ collection doesn’t have letter stickers and these go rather nicely.
Thanks so much for checking my projects out, you can find the whole Carta Bella – Flower Market collection here.
