Awesome Teen Spirit | Julie Taylor

Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today sharing 2 layouts using the Teen Spirit Girl collection from Echo Park.

Awesome, Hello, Sweet

For my first layout I wanted to use a lot of mixed media & used oxide inks in seedless preserves, dusty concord & shaded lilac, these are colours I don’t use very often but love how they blended together, on this layout & how they went with the papers. I added them, in a strip, down the centre using the packaging technique & also through stencils. I then added stamping, in black ink, from the cute stamp set that goes with this collection.

I stitched some messy lines to add to the vertical line & added a stitched circle at the bottom. I further enhanced this circle by adding a messy circle of coloured wire with a couple of curled tendrils going off.

all that was left to do was add the embellishments, out the Frame & Tag die cuts, element sticker sheet & fussy cutting out the 6×6 paper pad. I added the photo, in the wire circle & made a couple of paper tassels from papers out the 6×6 paper pad.

I decided to add my second layout on black cardstock, which really makes this collection pop!! I did a basic grid layout but overlapped most of the peices.

I stamped on the background with gold ink, which showed up lovely on the black. I used the same colours of oxide ink to colour a piece of watercolour paper & stamped & embossed the figure & punched out a tab.

This collection was a bit of a different colour way for me but I was really happy with how my pages came together.

Until next time, happy scrapping.
