Awesome Moment | Julie Taylor

Hello Magpies.

Creating with the new Echo Park *It’s Time to Travel* collection was an absolute joy from start to finish. The colour palette is beautifully soft and muted, giving the whole layout a calm, nostalgic feel, while the thoughtfully designed icons really help tell a meaningful travel story.

For this scrapbook page, I decided to split the design into two distinct sections using a selection of the patterned papers. This helped create balance while still allowing each element to stand out. To anchor the layout, I machine stitched a large central circle, which became the perfect focal point for my photo and embellishment cluster.

I placed my photo right in the centre of the circle and began building a vertical cluster to the left-hand side. I layered tickets and tabs to create depth, then incorporated die cut pieces from the Let’s Travel set, along with elements from the Tags & Tabs and Notebook Paper sets. These pieces are incredibly versatile—they add texture and interest, and I love that they can be used again and again across different projects.

To enhance the travel theme, I added a few geo tags in the top left corner and included three die cut planes for a playful, dynamic touch. These small details really help bring movement and storytelling into the page.

Finally, I finished the layout with a fabulous exclusive wood word title. It perfectly captures the spirit of the photo and ties the whole design together. This collection made it so easy to create a cohesive, layered page that feels both personal and visually engaging.

Thanks for joining me today.

Until next time,
