Autumnal Layout – American Crafts – Farmstead Harvest – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here with another Autumnal layout using American Craft’s Farmstead Harvest. Do you like to sew on layouts? I always think its looks so beautiful but often find myself wishing I hadn’t sewn quite so much!
The patterned papers in this collection are so beautiful and Autumnal, I chose one full of acorns and leaves and drew a large leaf and cut it out. I then used chain stitch all around the edge and then used running stitch for the leaf veins. This took me along time but I am pleased with how it looks. I trimmed down the 12×12 Deer and Trees paper and added a white border from a sheet of 12×12 cardstock, which I gutted. I then machine sewed around the edge in orange thread.
This was the main part of the layout created ,I matted my photo and positioned it on the leaf, and added a tag to the right. Then I created clusters around the corners of the photo.
From the ephemera Icons I used leaf sprigs and pumpkin clusters for the two bottom clusters. I distressed the edges of all the pieces.
I also added a couple of puffy stickers.
For the top two clusters, I used more acorns and leaves along with some more puffy stickers.
Finally I threaded waxed string through the tag and added gold splatters across the layout.
I really love how this layout turned out and it has to be one of my favourite Autumnal layouts to date.
Do check out this collection over on the Hey Little Magpie website to see more of this gorgeous collection.
Till next time … Happy Scrapping!
