Are We There Yet? – Round Trip – Maggie Holmes – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here sharing my second layout this month using the gorgeous American Crafts Maggie Holmes Round Trip Collection. I think this is becoming on of my all time favourite collections, I just love all the pastel colours and gorgeous ephemera in the collection.
I really loved the 12×12 Documented paper and decided to make it the background for my layout, and my photo was perfectly coordinated colour wise. As I mentioned in the previous blog post I had cut apart the two main 12×12 cut apart sheets Tickets and Explore, so I chose the tags and tickets which coordinated to the colour of the photo.
Initially I used a stencil with some texture paste to give some texture to the background. I then cut some strips from the 6×8 paper pad and distressed their edges and machine sewed them onto the layout perpendicular to each other. I positioned the photo centrally and started working the design of the layout around it.
I distressed the edges of all the cut apart pieces and ephemera bits and then machine sewed around the tags which I tucked in behind the photo.
To each side of the photo I then arranged the pieces of ephemera and the tickets from the cut apart papers until I was happy that the layout was balanced. I raised each piece on sticky fixers to give layering and dimension to the layout.
To finish the layout I added chipboard stickers, puffy stickers and stickers from the sticker book which I stuck to white card first and then fussy cut. I also added a Bramblefox perspextive and some thicker letters for the title.
I loved how the layout turned out and as the photo was showing the gorgeous bus we travelled in I was pleased to have a lot of the embellishments talking about transport services.
I hope you will take a look at this gorgeous collection in www.heylittlemagpie.com, it is so versatile and just beautiful to use.
Till next time … Happy Scrapping!
