Arden Creative Studio – Been There | Jackie Ashton

Hi Jackie here, sharing my layout today using the beautiful travel themed collection from Arden Creative Studio Been There collection. 

 

I choose one of the patterned papers from the 12 x 12 Paper Pad  as the foundation for my page, choosing one of the patterned papers which has arrows design along the bottom.  I added some hand-stitching around the arrows to give my layout some extra texture.

For the photos, I printed several smaller images onto a single 6×4 photo print and trimmed them into narrow strips. This is one of my favourite ways to include multiple photos without overwhelming the page. I layered these photo strips over patterned papers from the 6×8 pad  from the same collection.

Once the main layers were in place, I started building embellishment clusters using die cuts and laser-cut elements from the collection.

 

I love tucking pieces in between layers so little bits peek out from behind the photographs.  These details help create a fuller, more interactive layout with lots of visual interest.

To finish everything off, I added some stamped detail over the background paper.

This subtle extra layer helps tie the whole design together and gives the page even more texture and character without taking attention away from the photos.
