Another look at the Heidi Swapp Exclusives

Hi All, Niki here. Do you remember the chaos for the Project Life Heidi Swapp exclusives when they first hit the shelves? Item flew out of stock on the first day and the re-stocks took quite some time to come back in. I bought quite a few of these little gems but they have been sat in my stash unused for some time now. The Gold Foil Pocket Pages is a pack of 12 page protectors (Designs A & D) that have gorgeous gold foil phrases/patterns on some of the pockets. These are seriously lovely and add something special to your pocket pages. I do Project Life but I use a very specific set of supplies and therefore had never used this pack of speciality page protectors and therefore these first few layouts are divided layouts but not part of my Project Life 2015 project, they will go within my normal 12×12 albums, but happen to be divided in style.

On this first layout you can just about see the ‘smile like you mean it’ gold foiled phrase on the first pocket – I added a journaling card behind it, added a Heidi Swapp exclusive outline sticker and sprinkled in some gold sequins. I sealed this pocket using the WRMK Fuse tool (BTW I don’t usually photograph my divided layouts in the page protectors because of the glare on the plastic but in this case some of the pockets are sealed and a lot of my embellishments are on top of the page protectors so I had no choice – sorry about the glare.)  I’ve also used the Heidi Swapp Exclusive Hello Flip Book. The book flaps open to reveal more places for pictures and journaling. I had to adapt the page protector slightly because the pocket wasn’t top opening, so I cut an opening in the top and fused the side opening with the Fuse tool.  And I’ve also used the Heidi Swapp Exclusives Mini Folders – the bottom left pocket also folds open to reveal more space for pictures and journaling.

The ‘Today title is on top of the page protector, as are some of the chipboard shapes I’ve used.

Inside the Mini Folder, I’ve stamped a cute phrase from the Heidi Swapp Exclusive Love You Stamp and Stencil set, and used the stencil to push gold embossing paste through.  I used the Wendy Vecchi one in Gold which is out of stock now, but a good alternative would be the new Heidi Swapp Mixed Media Metallic Texture Paste in Gold – there are other colours too. (I have every colour on my wish list).

Turning over to the double spread: I’ve again used one of the Gold Foil page protectors – see the ‘Think Happy Thoughts’ at the bottom – and I’ve added another outline sticker to the journaling card and sprinkled in more sequins. Again I’ve sealed this pocket with the Fuse Tool. I’ve used the Heidi Swapp Exclusives Interactive Cards set here – see the camera card in the bottom right pocket? Slide the top and the camera shutter opens to reveal a tiny photo! Super cute!! I’ve used another of the Mini Files (black and white chevrons) which flaps open to reveal more photos and journaling. Again I’ve embellished using chipboard shapes and a Thickers word ‘Happy’ on top of the page protectors.

And my final divided page. I’ve again used the gold texture paste and the stencil from the Love You Stamp and Stencil Set on the top right card/photo and have again used chipboard embellishments and a Thickers Title to embellish on top of the page protectors.  I’ve also used another Outline Sticker in the bottom right pocket – these are awesome by the way.

OK, so moving on to using the lovely Heidi Swapp exclusives on regular 12×12 layouts now. I began this layout with the Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Spritz in Gold, Sweet Cherry and Seafoam.  I just dropped these on and then I had some fun with that Love You Stamp and Stencil Set again – I used the stencil to add gold texture paste, and I smeared some on too, I then spritzed with the Gold Colour shine and left to dry. In the meantime I set to work on those tags – these are the best hidden gem in the whole shop I think, they are the Heidi Swapp Exclusives Vellum Layered Tags.  The pack contains four tags, all with pretty base patterns and glittery detail on the thread hole. There are also four separate pieces of vellum, all with lovely printed patterns/words some of which are gold foiled – they really are stunning. Because the vellum is separate, you can choose which piece of vellum to use with which tag. For these two I sewed my vellum onto my tags with metallic silver thread and my sewing machine but they could be stuck instead if sewing freaks you out! I added more metallic thread to the holes and layered my tags onto my background. I then stamped my title, again using the Love you Stamp and Stencil Set, and then I went over the title in glue and sprinkled with glitter. Once dry I covered the title in glossy accents so that the glitter was sealed in. It looks awesome. I finished off by using an outline sticker, and chipboard shapes.

For this layout I used my Gelatos to make a washed background and then used some of the outline stickers as stencils together with the gold texture paste again. I also added some drops of the Gold Colour Shine Spritz. Again I used another one of those gorgeous tags and more chipboard shapes.

And finally for this layout I used the stencil from the Love You Stamp and Stencil set to apply glue to my layout and then I sprinkled on gold glitter for a slightly differet look to the texture paste I had been using. I used some papers from the PL Inspire Edition 6×6 Paper Pad. I also used the last Tag from the set and another Interactive Card and finished off with more chipboard shapes – mostly from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Shine collection.

I hope you’ve enjoyed going back in time to re-visit some of the absolutely gorgeous Heidi Swapp exclusive products, I certainly enjoyed creating with them. Happy scrapping xx
