American Crafts – Crate Paper – Gingham Garden | Part One | Amy Kattenbelt
Hello Magpies, I am sharing the first of three layouts I have created using the new “Gingham Garden” collection from Crate Paper. It’s a rainbow of pastel colours with lots of beautiful floral images. Perfect for scrapping all sorts of photos.
This layout features a photo of my dad’s youngest dog when he was a puppy.
The inspiration for this layout comes from the patterned paper called “In The Shade“. I’ve used two sheets. Using the first sheet to cut out all the coloured stripes.
I discarded three of the grey colours stripes. With the rest I used a distress tool to roughen up the edges. I stuck them equally spaced down to a piece of white 12×12 cardstock. I was careful not to place adhesive near the edges. Using a sewing machine and white thread I stitched down the centre of each piece.
With the second piece of the “In The Shade” paper, I fussy cut out lots of the grey florals from the b side of the paper. I then tucked these pieces into the coloured stripes of paper on my background. I cut most of them in half to be able to do this.
From the Paperie Pack, I layered up some of the larger pieces and placed them behind my photo. I used the alpha stickers from the sticker book to add my title.
I finished my layout by adding one of the Hey Little Magpie flair from the Watercolour Cameras set to the corner of my photo.
Thanks for dropping by to see how I created this layout. I’ll be back later in the month with my next layout using the same collection. In the meantime, take care,
