American Crafts | Cedar House | Part Two | Giselle Homer

Hello Magpies,

Today I’m sharing another layout using the Cedar House collection from American Crafts.

AWESOME

I wanted to base the design around a circle shape so I cut a solid & an outline circle from different papers. The wood effect paper worked as a dark background so I chose a more patterned paper for the outline.

I arranged the two circles just off centre on the right. Then, using a blending brush, I inked around them with in a pale brown colour.

Next I layered my photo onto some tags & long strips of torn paper, along with a die cut shield & a puffy sticker. Then I  glued them into place on the circles.

I chose a title from my stash & embellished around it with washi tape ‘stitches’ & hand drawn lines using a fine liner pen. I inked a Hey Little Magpie torn strip die & placed that below the photo with a fussy cut leaf embellishment.

To finish off I added a secondary title with a (very old!) alphabet from my stash. I threaded twine through the tags, with some cute little puffy stickers on the left.

I hope you check out this new collection, with its rich, deep colours & fun embellishments.  Don’t forget to upload any of your layouts to the HLM Chat & Inspiration page on Facebook.

Until next time, happy scrapping everyone!
