American Crafts Cedar House | Giselle Homer

Hi everyone,

This month I’m working with American Crafts Cedar House collection. It has soft hues of brown,  plus some touches of gold & black which is useful for outdoor photos & boy layouts. Don’t you just love that brick wall paper?!

BATTERSEA

I began by cutting three large triangles to place on a sheet of black cardstock, along with a smaller one cut from Kraft card. To make sure they fitted properly, I made templates with tracing paper first, I didn’t want to risk cutting into the papers & making a mistake! And then I added black washi tape along the edges.

I backed my photo with white cardstock & placed it at the top part of the page with some tags threaded through with twine.

On the other side of the photo I made an embellishment cluster consisting of tags, tickets, die cut icons & labels. The alphabet used for the main title is from Doodlebug  & the secondary title was made using  my own stash.

Below that I added another group of die cuts to break up the black space & to add interest.

I wrote my journalling on the Kraft cardstock fitting the words around the shape of the die cuts.

It was good to experiment a bit using this triangle arrangement.  I think the strong lines go well with the subject of the photo so I’ll definitely be doing that again!

Until next time, happy scrapping!
