ALL MY HEART – PART 1 – WENDY MEFFAN
Hey Magpies, It’s Wendy up on the blog again sharing my first LO for February using Simple Stories Simple Vintage My Valentine . I didn’t have any Valentine photos so this collection has pushed me to be less literal and produce two LO that are with different themes although both about Love.
I decided I would use my silver wedding pictures and used the B side of the 12×12 BE Mine paper, I trimmed it and added a white border, I decided to cut two large hearts out of papers from the 6×8 paper pad and add the photos to them, I then put a double mat underneath using other papers from the pad. I decided to enhance their edges by machine stitching around them in zigzag stitch.
I added a HLM flair badge and some banners and a ticket from the Bits and Pieces Die Cuts. I used a border punch on the bottom mat .
I then made a cluster for the bottom left corner to balance the page and used more die cuts, I raised each piece on sticky fixers to give depth to the LO.
I then cut a couple of strips from the 6 x8 paper pad and made them into banners and added more die cuts.
I machine sewed around the outer edge go the LO as I felt the paper was a bit pale and needed the edge to stand out.
LO 2 YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE
I used the 6×8 paper pad and cut out several light bulbs using different sheets. I then painted inside the bulbs to make them stand out more.
I used Heidi Swapp colour shine Ocean and Red to create the background. I then used a music back ground stamp and some heart stamps and then placed the light bulb on top.(I have a bit of a thing about lightbulbs at the moment !) I added a few enamel dots and hearts .
I then placed my three photos along the bottom again using papers from the 6×8 pad and used a 3×4 journalling card from the 3×4 elements sheet. I punched a couple of tabs and added them long the side.
I then placed a single light bulb above the photos to start my title as it had the word YOU in it and then stamped the cord the lightbulb hangs from.
I then added the title and another lightbulb to the right of the pictures and was happy the LO was balanced and also looked very different to the first one.
I hope these give you inspiration that your pictures don’t need to be Valentine themed with a Valentines Collection, I have two more LO later in the month using the same collection.
Until then….Happy Scrapping!
