Ready for the Wedding! – Simple Stories -Noteworthy Collection – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! happy New Year! I’m sharing my first layout of 2024 using Simple Stories Noteworthy Collection. There are so many things I need to document this collection is perfect, it has a great variety of bright colours and plenty of journalling embellishments.
We went to my nephew’s wedding last November in Australia and when I saw this collection I knew immediately it would be ideal for some of our photos due to the colours we were wearing! The words on the reverse 12×12 November paper were perfect so I used this paper as the main background for the layout. I then tore a strip from the 12×12 April paper and used the reverse side to add a small border. The pink push pin paper from the 6×8 paper pad was the perfect colour for a second border under the green paper. Using cream Bazzill I made the paper up to 12×12 size. Having ordered two two sheets of the November paper i was able to cut one of them up completely into all the elements. Then I used the pink 3×4 card and the 3×4 mock envelope. I distressed the edges of both these pieces. In the 6×8 paper pad was a tab top page so I used the happy days tab. I clustered these three together and added my photo next to them which I matted with a green 3×4 card from the 6×8 paper pad. I also added some floral ephemera and a sticker clip form the 12×12 sticker sheet. I used the Today chipboard sticker over the label space on the 3×4 card to give a bit more dimension .
At the base of the photo I added the Noteworthy chipboard sticker as a title, I tucked a piece of floral ephemera behind it.
I added more floral ephemera and a camera sticker under the Noteworthy chipboard , this partly was to cover the join of my pink border as it was two pieces joined together.
To balance the layout over the paper layers I chose the large chipboard typewrite and some more floral ephemera as a grouping.
I didn’t feel this layout needed any mixed media as it has a lot of words and floral patterns on it. I love how it all came together and just how perfect all the colours were together .
Till next time … Happy Scrapping!
