Afternoon Tea – American Crafts – Maggie Holmes -Forever Fields – Wendy Meffan
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here, sharing my third December layout using American Crafts Maggie Holmes Forever Fields Collection. I have really enjoyed the soft colour palette of this collection.
I chose to create a striped background using papers from the 6×8 paper pad. I cut 6 strips of paper alternating stripes between floral patterns, and distressed their edges. I positioned them vertically across the page and then machine stitched through them with straight and zig zag stitches. I matted both photos and positioned them centrally across the stripes. I started building up clusters around the photos using the floral ephemera, card stock stickers, stickers from the sticker book. I also added some puffy stickers.
The first cluster to the right of the photos was the largest and I used sticky fixers behind all the pieces to give more dimension. I stuck the stickers from the sticker book to white card stock and then fussy cut them. This works very well to make the stickers a bit more substantial.
I then balanced the layout with another cluster on the opposite side of the layout by the photo. Again I raised the ephemera on sticker fixers for extra dimension.
Across the top of the landscape photo I created a third point of interest tucking in flowers and tickets, all raised on sticky fixers.
Between the two photos I tucked in some more flowers. I then added some enamel dots and gold paint splatters.
This collection has worked well with both indoor and outdoor photos. Do take a look if you’ve not considered it before.
This is my last layout of 2024 so I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Until then … Happy Scrapping!
