Adorkable… is this really a word?
Adorkable, yes you really did read this right, it really is a word!
I had to google it when I saw it on one of the stunning On Trend chipboard pieces from MME. And to prove it, the dictionary definition is… ‘a person or object who is adorable and also a dork who is doing something that is geekish to make them adorable.’ So there you have it, a perfect word for a photo of my two elder step-daughters, taken at Sea World, Florida – so why Adorkable? Because they are pretending to be flamingos of course!
The Awesome Mini Dots paper, along with some tags that I created using the 6 x 6″ paper pad and some chipboard shapes and buttons were a perfect complement to the peachy and green tones in the photo.
Hints of gold accents were introducing with more chipboard shapes and some of the stunning stickers from the co-ordinating Niche range and as I was feeling in the mood, I turned my hand to painting a few flamingos in the lower half of the layout!
If you’re in love with the current craze for flamingos as much as I am, (perhaps I too am Adorkable?) watch out for Citrus Bliss by Pink Paislee coming to the shop soon!
‘Awesome Sauce’ was another phrase that I learn’t whilst playing with the On Trend collection…. how totally adorkable is that phrase too!
It can be found in the On Trend Frameables – a new concept where the pages of a 12 x 12″ paper pad are actually art for your walls.
Using more pages from the 6 x 6″ paper pad, I created a colour wheel styled layout, scoring and sticking the eight sections together to create the effect that they were stitched rather than glued.
A bit of fussy cutting from some floral elements from another of the 6 x 6″ paper pages, along with a selection of the chipboard shapes, buttons and phrases completed the layout.
So now know what Adorkable means, why not use it on one of your layouts!
