A Wander Around Ronda – Bea Valint Collections – Wendy Meffan

Scrapbooking travel memories is one of my favourite ways to relive special places, and this layout documents a wonderful visit to the beautiful old town of Ronda. The page features eight small photos that capture the charm, architecture, and atmosphere of this stunning Spanish destination. I used a combination of Bea Valint collections – Smiles for Miles and Sketchbook.

To keep the design structured while still allowing room for layers, I arranged the photos using two 3×4 photo templates. This helped create a balanced grid that keeps the layout organised while still highlighting each little moment from the trip. The smaller photos work perfectly for travel pages because they allow you to include more snapshots from the day without overwhelming the design.

For this layout I combined the Sketchbook and Smiles for Miles collections by Bea Valint. The colours and playful patterns from both collections work beautifully together and complement the warm tones of the Ronda photos. I began by building up the background using pieces of paperie and ephemera, layering them to create texture and interest behind the photos. Once the layers were in place, I positioned the photo templates over the top so the pictures became the main focus while still sitting within a decorative base.

To add some softer details, I fussy cut several flowers from patterned paper and tucked them into the layered sections around the photos. I also included a few tags from the ephemera pack, sliding them into the clusters to add extra dimension and a travel-inspired feel.

For contrast and a little bit of artistic texture, I finished the page with some black ink splatters. These help break up the softer colours and bring a touch of boldness to the layout. Finally, I added a wide floral border to frame the page and tie all the elements together.

The result is a layered, colourful layout that captures the beauty and memories of exploring Ronda’s historic old town.
