A Scrapbook Opportunity! – Simple Stories – Crafty Things – Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone! I’m sharing my second layout using Simple Stories Crafty Things Collection. I am using more scrapbooking photos so this collection is just ideal. When I was in Luxembourg on a Scrapbooking Retreat we went sightseeing and couldn’t resist a photo with these giant macarons! I knew I would be scrapping the picture!

I really loved the paint brush in the 6×8 paper pad, so fussy cut it and decided how to work it into the layout! I deliberately chose two different photo sizes, and matted them with paper from the paper pad. Then I used the 12×12 Sew Adorable paper and fussy cut three of the tapestry rings. I felt they went well shape wise with the macarons in the photos, and the striped one matched all the colours, I positioned them around the photos. Then I removed everything from the layout and added some stamping using distress oxides. I then started to reposition the pieces. I tucked the paintbrush under the 3×4 photo and then tucked a tag behind the photo, slightly over this I attached one of the tapestry rings and a bow to embellish.

 

Over the bottom part of the paint brush I added another tapestry ring and a floral cluster from the floral Bits and Pieces. I stamped at the bottom of the page and made a small cluster which I placed over the stamping.

Then I moved to the right side of the layout and used two tags from the 12×12 Tag paper and tucked them behind the photo, I then tucked in some ephemera and added another floral cluster. I used waxed string through the tags.

I created another cluster diagonally opposite the bottom cluster at the top of the page. Again I stamped and added ephemera over the top.

Finally I added the Hello from the ephemera pack and then added gold splatters across the layout.
