A Paper Story | Vicki Boutin Design | Giselle Homer
Hi everyone,
Today I’m sharing my first layout for September, using a great new collection from Vicki Boutin. It’s called A Paper Story & is jam packed with eclectic embellishments, bright colours & unusual paper designs.
TODAY’S ADVENTURE
I started my layout by stencilling a sun ray onto a piece of patterned paper from the collection, using Hey Little Magpie’s Ray stencil. It was exactly what I was looking for to go with my photo of the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge.
Cutting out the individual rays I arranged them on the left side of a sheet of Vanilla cardstock. I drew thin lines between the rays using a black fine liner pen & added some little dots along the lines.
Using Rub-On Transfers from the collection I laid these down beside the rays – my idea was to create a rough circle shape on the page.
Where the rays & the Rub-ons met at the top, I placed a couple of leaf sprigs taken from both the Icon Ephemera pack & the Vellum and Acetate pack.
I backed my photo & distressed the edges before adding it the centre of the circle.
There’s a great selection of words & phrases in the Titles pack, this one fitted neatly below the photo & was relevant! I finished the layout by adding a Rub-On below the title and a cute acetate flower spray on the left.
