A little Whimsical with Paige Taylor Evans.
Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x
When I was looking at some of the new ranges in the shop I was struck by the lovely clean vibrant colours in Paige Taylor Evans – Whimsical range. To be honest this Whimsical range is brighter than I would normally pick so thats exactly why I decided to go with it as a little challenge to myself. I see lots of colourful layouts on line at the moment so now it’s my turn to see what I can come up with.
Butterfly Farm Trip.
For my first page I took the Whimsical paper #7 as my background. I felt this would be the perfect paper to showcase multiple photos, to tell a story & I remembered these from the summer that my Daughter had taken on a visit to a Butterfly Farm.
Once I had planned where my photos were going I cut out the centres of the frames then stitched around them my hand in thread that complimented the frame colour. I tend to do most of my hand sewing whilst catching up with the TV. I mounted the photos behind the frames using foam pads.
Using the Whimsical floral die cuts pack, puffy embellishments and chipboard Icon Thickers, I added 3 clusters around the photos. Then I added the title to another frame, using the Mini foam alpha Thickers and I mixed up the colours to carry on the bright theme.
Prom Dress.
This layout started with me fussy cutting flowers from the Whimsical paper #3 initially with no idea how I was going to use these beautiful blooms. I find my scrapbooking is colour led and this page is no exception. I’ve picked out the pinks, greens & deep reds to use together to document my Daughters Prom Dress.
Once I had an idea how I wanted the layout to look I added white paint splats & some stamped text to my chosen background paper Whimsical paper #17.
I matted my photos then began tucking in some of the fussy cut flowers and leaves making 3 distinct clusters. I added foam pads under some to add depth then added chipboard and puffy hearts around filling little gaps. For this title I was more choosy with the colours but as there are loads in the pack I found plenty to use here.
I’m pretty happy with how these turned out & can’t wait house more from this range. We would love to see your creations over on our FB group.
Till next time x
