A little bit more from Sweet Story | Jo Boland

Hey, It’s Jo here with a final layout from me using the fabulous Sweet Story collection by Maggie Holmes from Crate Paper. I used a sketch by Niki Rowland, (a recent DT member) for by layout design. I find sketches are really useful when you’re a little stuck or short on time.

The black and white background is Sweetest paper, I gutted the centre to use another time. On top of this I mounted a 11 1/2″ square piece of smooth white cardstock which I’d distressed the edges of. I cut colourful strips from the Jubilee paper in differing lengths, adhered them in place, leaving the right ends unstuck. I machine stitched around the edge of the cardstock and along the top and bottom of each strip of paper.

The star shapes are cut from the Stardust vellum paper, I cut out four and stuck in position with liquid glue. I added the photo on top of a die-cut polaroid piece from the ephemera pack, popping up the top edges with foam pads.

Under the photo I added the word stickers from the sticker book and stamped the date on the polaroid frame. The letters for the title are also from the sticker book, the black thickers are old ones from my stash. Also from the sticker book are the clear star stickers and the cute little camera. I stuck a little yellow puffy sticker heart into the centre of the lens, something I like to do.

Tucked behind the photo is a tag from the die-cut ephemera pack, I wrote my journaling on the back. I tied some black embroidery thread to it which picks up the colour from the background paper and the title.

Finally, I added a little cluster of tiny puffy sticker stars to the bottom right corner of the layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by, you can find more inspiration for the Sweet Story collection here.
